ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Claudia Harper has been a resident of Astoria, Oregon, for four years, having spent most of her life in California and Hawaii. An educator and writer for most of her career, she is the author of three other books: a biography, Anabel; and autobiography; and a book of poems and photography, Tour Astoria : Sights and Insights. Claudia Harper's photographs have been shown at such places as Astoria Visual Arts Gallery, Riversea Gallery, Clatsop Community College's Performing Arts Center, and the Duncan Law Seafood Center. Her photos have also been exhibited in California at the University of California Santa Barbara and the Hollyhock House in Carpinteria.

Her poetry can be read in such publications as Verseweavers, Oregon State Poetry Association's anthology; hipfish, a cultural monthly publication; and Rain, published annually by Clatsop Community College. She co-edited the annual poetry issue of hipfish , as well as the monthly poetry column poetryvenue. She has been a featured reader at the Spoken Word's Monday Mike at Astoria's River Theater, and has read at various mufti-media presentations at Astoria's Performing Arts Center, Clatsop Community College's Art Center, and regional art galleries in the Lower Columbia.
