This book brings to life more than 50 years in the history of the Babine River, one of the most famous of all British Columbia's highly regarded sports fishing destinations.
Authors: Pierce Clegg & Peter McMullan
Foreword by Mark Hume

Rivers are sacred and none more so than those that have the holy trinity of salmon, grizzly bears and steelhead. Babine, a collection of tales on fishing, companionship and the power of dreams, is about one of those special rivers.
The economic forces aligned against the Babine are great, however because of the hard work of some of those whose writing appears in this book, a narrow corridor of forest shelters the Babine. As it flows between those green, cathedral walls, carrying the salmon and steelhead back to their natal waters and giving tantalizing life to the flies cast by fishermen, the river seems a blessed, protected place.
The Babine, and the lodge that gave generations of anglers access to the sacred waters, comes to life in these pages. There are some great fishing stories, but this is far more than a book about fishing. It’s a book about what’s important in life. It’s a book about a beautiful, wild river and the dream that it can be saved as it is, forever.

"In fishing, not only are great fish and fishermen revered, but great fishing spots. Babine: A 50-Year Celebration of a World-Renowned Steelhead and Trout River tells the story of this beloved river in Canada and how it has become a favored and famed fishing river known for its abundant trout and steelhead. With plenty of photographs, anecdotes, tips and so much more, Peter Clegg & Peter McMullan provide a worthy tribute to the river. Babine is a fine addition to any Canadian history of fishing collection, very highly recommended." __Midwest Book Review, November 2010
